Goodbye winter, hello spring (hopefully)

 Hello everyone!

I hope you all are doing well and spending some time outside in this great weather!

I'm excited to share some ministry updates with you all from February and what God has done in our ministry and some exciting things we are looking forward to these next couple of months.

A few weeks ago we had our annual Spring Showcase and it was so successful and so much fun! You guys might remember me inviting you last month and sharing that this annual fundraiser helps send our students to SICM, our Student Institute of Campus Ministry training. Here, these students will learn how to be missionaries to their campuses and live out Jesus' call to "go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you." (Matt. 28:19-20).

If you weren't able to make it out to Showcase but still would like to support our students, you can still give at

and you can also watch a recording of the show! It was one of our best yet in my opinion and you will love watching it!

Thank you to all of you who were able to come and those who donated despite not being able to be there!

It was so encouraging to have Spring Showcase be such a success this year and to see people be SO generous. I am also so excited for our students that we will have going to SICM this year! We have several students from SMU and one student from TWU Dallas and I know that God will do amazing things at SICM to not only bring them closer to God, but also fan the flame in their hearts for campus ministry and making Jesus known! And I can't wait to see how God uses them next year to spread the gospel at both SMU and TWU Dallas.

Here are a few picture updates for this month!

With the lent season upon us, I want to share about some spiritual habits that Albert and I have been implementing that have tremendously blessed us and invite you to join! These come from a book called "Common Rule" by Justin Whitmel Earley where he talks about the significance of habits and how they tell a story of what's important to us. Spiritual habits are so vital to help us "continue to live our lives in Him, rooted and built up in Him.."(Colossians 2:6-7)

The Common Rule is made up of eight habits, four daily and four weekly. The daily habits are

  • kneeling prayer at morning, mid day, and bedtime,

  • one meal with others, and

  • one hour with phone off,

  •  Scripture before phone.

The weekly habits are

  • one hour of conversation with a friend,

  • curate media to four hours,

  • fast from something for twenty four hours, and

  • sabbath.

I have noticed such fruit from implementing these habits the past week and I'm excited about continuing them! Albert and I, along with our student leader team is committing to do them through the month of March. If you would like to commit to doing some or all of them with us, I would love to hear your experience and help anyway I can! I have seen it is so much easier doing them with others.

Thank you as always for your continued support and presence in my life. You all are, in so many ways, such a tremendous encouragement to doing ministry! May our Lord bless you and keep you!
